Amsterdam
Settled as a small fishing village in the late 12th century, Amsterdam became one of the most important trading centres in the world during the Dutch Golden Age of the 17th century, with the first stock exchange and the joint ventures that gave birth to modern day Capitalism.
(…) UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2010.
Hoi An
Hoi An is a city on Vietnam’s central coast known for its well-preserved Ancient Town, cut through with canals. A well-preserved example of a south-east Asian trading port of the 15th to 19th centuries.
It is spectacular, especially after the sun sets. Thousands of lanterns, music and small restaurants blend together, creating phenomenal atmosphere in the city.
Northern Vietnam
I spent 3 weeks in Vietnam in April 2017 traveling from the north (city of Hanoi) to the very south of the country (Ho Chi Minh City), visting many extraordinary places.
In a first episode I will write about the capital city of Hanoi and some other Northern Vietnam destinations as it did strike me in many ways and I absolutely loved pretty much everything about this place…
Sri Lanka
I travelled to Sri Lanka in April (about Easter time) and this is considered slightly after the peak season there, everything is much cheaper and there is a good selection of choices for finding accommodation.
Less tourists as well if you need a quiet holiday. Weather wise – not too much difference than in peak season 😉
Indian Himalayas #2
